TikTok sometimes shows "No internet connection" or "No network connection" even when every other app works. That usually means TikTok specifically can't reach its servers, because of a TikTok outage, an app glitch or something on your network blocking it.

Fixes to try

  1. Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Some networks, such as school or work Wi-Fi, block TikTok.
  2. Check TikTok's mobile data permission. On iPhone: Settings, TikTok, Mobile Data. On Android: Settings, Apps, TikTok, Mobile data.
  3. Close TikTok fully and reopen it, or restart your phone.
  4. Clear TikTok's cache: Profile, menu, Settings and privacy, Free up space, Clear cache.
  5. Update the app.
  6. Turn off your VPN and check your date and time are automatic.

Questions

Why does TikTok say no internet connection when I have internet?

TikTok can't reach its own servers. TikTok may be down, the app may need restarting or updating, or your network or VPN may be blocking it.

Does clearing TikTok's cache delete my videos or drafts?

Clearing the cache doesn't delete posted videos. To be safe, save any important drafts to your phone first.
