YouTube shows "An error occurred. Please try again later. (Playback ID: …)" when a video can't start, and "Something went wrong" when the app or page can't load. Outages cause both, but browser extensions, cached data and slow connections are more common causes.

Questions
Why does YouTube say an error occurred, please try again later?
YouTube couldn't start the video. Common causes are extensions, a weak connection, cached data or a YouTube outage.
Why does YouTube work on my phone but not my computer?
The problem is probably in your computer's browser: try a private window, turn off extensions and clear cached data.
