What to do if Hugging Face is not working
- Start a new chat in Hugging Face. Very long conversations can fail even when the service is up.
- If you see a rate limit or capacity message, wait a few minutes. These limits reset over time and aren't a full outage.
- Refresh the page or reopen the app to clear a stuck response, then resend your last message.
- Disable browser extensions such as ad blockers and VPNs, which can break Hugging Face's streaming responses.
- Check whether your plan's usage limit has been reached in your Hugging Face account settings.
- Try the Hugging Face mobile app or another browser to tell an account problem from a device problem.
Hugging Face outage FAQ
Is Hugging Face down for everyone, or just me?
Look at the status at the top of this page. We connect to huggingface.co directly from our servers, so if our check works but Hugging Face doesn't work for you, the problem is more likely your device, network or account. If our check fails, or reports have jumped in the last hour, Hugging Face is probably having a wider outage.
Why does this page say Hugging Face is up when it isn't working for me?
Our check confirms that huggingface.co is reachable and responding. An outage can still affect only part of Hugging Face, such as logging in, the mobile app or a single feature, or only some regions. That's why visitor reports matter: when many people report problems at once, we flag Hugging Face as having problems even if the website loads.
How often do you check Hugging Face?
We check Hugging Face automatically several times a day, and again whenever someone opens this page and our last check is more than a few minutes old.
How do I report a Hugging Face outage?
Use "Report a problem" on this page to tell us what isn't working. Reports are anonymous: we don't store your IP address, only a one-way code that stops the same person reporting many times, plus your country.
