What to do if Facebook is not working
- Pull down to refresh, then fully close and reopen the Facebook app.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If Facebook works on one but not the other, the problem is your network, not Facebook.
- Try Facebook in a web browser. If the website works but the app does not, update the app from your app store.
- Log out and back in only as a last resort: during an outage, logins often fail and you can get stuck signed out.
- Clear the app cache (Android: Settings → Apps → Facebook → Storage) or reinstall the app on iPhone.
- If posts or uploads fail, wait a few minutes before retrying so you don't create duplicates.

We connect to facebook.com directly from our servers, so if our check works but Facebook doesn't work for you, the problem is more likely your device, network or account. If our check fails, or reports have jumped in the last hour, Facebook is probably having a wider outage.
Why does this page say Facebook is up when it isn't working for me?
Our check confirms that facebook.com is reachable and responding. An outage can still affect only part of Facebook, such as logging in, the mobile app or a single feature, or only some regions. That's why visitor reports matter: when many people report problems at once, we flag Facebook as having problems even if the website loads.
