What to do if Duolingo is not working
- Hard-refresh the page (Ctrl+Shift+R, or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac) to bypass cached errors.
- Try Duolingo in a private window to rule out extensions and stale cookies.
- If you're on a school or work network, a filter or firewall may be blocking Duolingo. Try another network.
- Check whether Duolingo is down only in your region by trying it on mobile data.
- For assignment or exam platforms, screenshot any errors with the time showing. Instructors often accept them as proof of an outage.
- Change your DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 if Duolingo fails to load but other sites work.

If our check fails, or reports have jumped in the last hour, Duolingo is probably having a wider outage.
Why does this page say Duolingo is up when it isn't working for me?
Our check confirms that duolingo.com is reachable and responding. An outage can still affect only part of Duolingo, such as logging in, the mobile app or a single feature, or only some regions.
