What to do if Twitch is not working
- Restart the device you're watching on (TV, streaming stick or console), not just the Twitch app.
- Run a speed test: HD needs about 5 Mbps and 4K about 25 Mbps. Lower the quality in Twitch if your connection is slow.
- Restart your router and modem. Unplug them for 30 seconds, then plug them back in.
- If only one title won't play, try another. A single-title error is usually a licensing or encoding issue, not an outage.
- Sign out of Twitch on the device and sign back in. This clears stale sessions and stuck profiles.
- Check that your subscription and payment method are still active in your Twitch account settings.

Is Twitch down for everyone, or just me?
Look at the status at the top of this page. We connect to twitch.tv directly from our servers, so if our check works but Twitch doesn't work for you, the problem is more likely your device, network or account. If our check fails, or reports have jumped in the last hour, Twitch is probably having a wider outage.
Why does this page say Twitch is up when it isn't working for me?
Our check confirms that twitch.tv is reachable and responding. An outage can still affect only part of Twitch, such as logging in, the mobile app or a single feature, or only some regions. That's why visitor reports matter: when many people report problems at once, we flag Twitch as having problems even if the website loads.
