What to do if Optimum is not working
- Restart your modem and router: unplug both for 30 seconds, plug the modem in first, wait for it to connect, then the router.
- Check the lights on your modem. A blinking or red internet light usually means a Optimum line or area outage.
- Sign in to the Optimum app on mobile data. It can show outages at your address and estimated repair times.
- For mobile signal problems, toggle airplane mode, restart your phone, and check for a carrier settings update.
- If neighbours on Optimum also have problems, it's an area outage. Ask Optimum for a bill credit once it's fixed.
- Plug a computer directly into the modem with a cable to rule out a Wi-Fi problem in your home.

Is Optimum down for everyone, or just me?
Look at the status at the top of this page. We connect to optimum.net directly from our servers, so if our check works but Optimum doesn't work for you, the problem is more likely your device, network or account. If our check fails, or reports have jumped in the last hour, Optimum is probably having a wider outage.
Why does this page say Optimum is up when it isn't working for me?
Our check confirms that optimum.net is reachable and responding. An outage can still affect only part of Optimum, such as logging in, the mobile app or a single feature, or only some regions. That's why visitor reports matter: when many people report problems at once, we flag Optimum as having problems even if the website loads.
