What to do if Chime is not working
- Never retry a payment or transfer repeatedly. Check your balance and activity in Chime first, because pending transactions may already have gone through.
- Banking apps often go down for scheduled maintenance late at night and on weekends. Check Chime's website or social accounts for notices.
- Update the Chime app. Banks often block old app versions.
- If you can't log in, use the phone number on the back of your card. Never use a number from a search ad or a social media reply.
- Watch for scam messages that claim to be from Chime during outages. Chime will not ask for your password or one-time codes.
- Turn off VPNs when using Chime. Banks often block logins from unfamiliar locations.

Is Chime down for everyone, or just me?
Look at the status at the top of this page. We connect to chime.com directly from our servers, so if our check works but Chime doesn't work for you, the problem is more likely your device, network or account. If our check fails, or reports have jumped in the last hour, Chime is probably having a wider outage.
Why does this page say Chime is up when it isn't working for me?
Our check confirms that chime.com is reachable and responding. An outage can still affect only part of Chime, such as logging in, the mobile app or a single feature, or only some regions. That's why visitor reports matter: when many people report problems at once, we flag Chime as having problems even if the website loads.
