What to do if Cox is not working
- Restart your modem and router: unplug both for 30 seconds, plug the modem in first, wait for it to connect, then the router.
- Check the lights on your modem. A blinking or red internet light usually means a Cox line or area outage.
- Sign in to the Cox app on mobile data. It can show outages at your address and estimated repair times.
- For mobile signal problems, toggle airplane mode, restart your phone, and check for a carrier settings update.
- If neighbours on Cox also have problems, it's an area outage. Ask Cox for a bill credit once it's fixed.
- Plug a computer directly into the modem with a cable to rule out a Wi-Fi problem in your home.

Is Cox down for everyone, or just me?

We connect to cox.com directly from our servers, so if our check works but Cox doesn't work for you, the problem is more likely your device, network or account. If our check fails, or reports have jumped in the last hour, Cox is probably having a wider outage.
Why does this page say Cox is up when it isn't working for me?
Our check confirms that cox.com is reachable and responding. An outage can still affect only part of Cox, such as logging in, the mobile app or a single feature, or only some regions. That's why visitor reports matter: when many people report problems at once, we flag Cox as having problems even if the website loads.
