What to do if Xbox Live is not working
- Check whether Xbox Live is in scheduled maintenance. Many games take servers down for updates, often on weekday mornings.
- Fully restart the game and the launcher or console, not just the match.
- Use a wired Ethernet connection if you can. Wi-Fi often causes lag and disconnects that look like server problems.
- Install any pending game or system updates. Xbox Live often blocks older versions from connecting.
- Verify or repair the game files in your launcher if the game crashes on start.
- If you're stuck in a login queue, leave it running. Re-joining usually sends you to the back of the queue.

Is Xbox Live down for everyone, or just me?
Look at the status at the top of this page. We connect to xbox.com directly from our servers, so if our check works but Xbox Live doesn't work for you, the problem is more likely your device, network or account. If our check fails, or reports have jumped in the last hour, Xbox Live is probably having a wider outage.
Why does this page say Xbox Live is up when it isn't working for me?
Our check confirms that xbox.com is reachable and responding. An outage can still affect only part of Xbox Live, such as logging in, the mobile app or a single feature, or only some regions. That's why visitor reports matter: when many people report problems at once, we flag Xbox Live as having problems even if the website loads.
